What is a Pinterest Virtual Assistant?

You may be wondering if there is such a thing and the good news is there totally is, and many people are starting an at-home business as a Pinterest VA and making a full-time income out of it!

A Pinterest VA is someone who can work from home with bloggers and businesses all over the world to manage their Pinterest account.

What does a Pinterest VA do?

As mentioned above, they manage bloggers, and business Pinterest accounts in a range of ways, including:

  • business account set up and website verification
  • creating boards rich in specific keywords
  • creating Pinterest images that link back to their business website
  • Schedule Pinterest content on a weekly, monthly basis.

Why just focus on Pinterest?

Firstly, Pinterest is not considered a ‘social media’ platform its a form of search engine that millions of people use daily to find ideas, tips, information, products etc.

It is a time-consuming platform that business and bloggers don’t have time to spend mastering, so they outsource that work to a Pinterest VA.

So many businesses, websites, bloggers and companies are getting hooked on Pinterest because it can generate long-lasting traffic to a website, better than what Facebook, Twitter and Instagram can.

My Pinterest VA story

So, now I fill you in on my Pinterest VA story.

In early 2017 my 2nd child was heading off to school, and I started thinking about a long-term plan for when my youngest started Kindergarten.

Sitting at home all day ‘waiting’ for my kids to finish is not something I wanted to do, but I also didn’t want to seek employment as I still wanted to be flexible for school drop off and pickups, sick days, holidays – so I wanted to do something that fitted in with that.

I then came across a course online about becoming a Pinterest VA that Gina Horkey, founder of  horkeyhandbook.com and Kristen Larsen, founder of believeinabudget.com created. I spent about 2 months tossing up if I should spend the money and commit to it.

And then true story this… I binged watched Girl Boss on Netflix and after watching that I was totally like “I’m gonna flippin girl boss this Pinterest VA thing” so with that I signed up for the course!

Best decision ever!

I completed the course within a matter of days and started to pop a plan in place on how I would execute it.

Become a Pinterest VA course walked me step by step on how to find clients, how to pitch, how to come up with packages, how to invoice and much more.

How I put my newly learned skills into practice

Everyone has a different story and technique of what worked for them to nail their first client. But my most significant success was on Upwork.

I set up my profile and portfolio and set a reasonable starting hourly price to help gain a client. Within a week, I got my first client, who was a photographer who needed help setting up his Pinterest account.

I was so excited but nervous at the same time, but it was ah-mazing, I girl bossed the heck out of that job, which then leads me to do more jobs for my new client. From there because I had one great job and review under my belt, I was able to secure my next client quite quickly and then my next and so on.

Today

I try and create a work/life balance, I focus a lot of time now on my blog, and I currently have 5 Pinterest clients who provide me with ongoing monthly work.

Been a Pinterest Virtual Assistant can open more doors for you!

So true, the world today is such an online world that many companies, businesses and bloggers are hiring online because it works out to be more cost-effective that way.

Working online you have to build a lot of trust up with your client, but once you do it opens so many other doors, they offer you more opportunities because they trust you, refer others to you and can create ongoing, consistent work.
