Top 10 home decor items from Kmart!

Ahhh Kmart – who doesn’t love it! What’s not to love about it? It’s cheap, open till late and they have a huge selection of items suitable for all the family.

Date night…

Date night in our house involves dinner out and a trip to Kmart yippeee- highlight of our night! I know plenty of you make Kmart your chosen Saturday night destination…

So with that…

I am listing my top 10 home decor items for July that I love from Kmart. (No I have don’t have any affiliation with Kmart, I am just serious when I say I love the place).

Let’s get started

1, Industrial Ladder Bookshelf

This could fit anywhere in the home. Use it to place decorative items on it, photos, plants, scented candles. Set it up in a bedroom with books on the lower shelf and your favourite perfumes on the top. Place in the Kids bedroom to display their favourite or special toys.

2, Tapered Wooden Box

A great storage solution for any part of the home. Use in the living room to store magazines or books. Place in the kitchen and use for cookbooks. I think it would look great as a planter – add fresh stain to protect it. Set in the kid’s rooms for a toy box or allocate one each to the kids to store their shoes, bags, and hats in – you could even personalise it with their name on it.

3, Tee Pee Play Tent

If you have space, this will make a cool addition to any kids room. Give your little one a place to relax and chill out in – they can use for reading, role-playing or just a cosy spot to hang out in.

4, Large Reversible Industrial Rug

An ideal space to use this in is a home office. I recently decorated our home office which is separate from the house and has the clip together wood flooring. The rug made the room feel a whole heap cosier while also adding a professional touch to the room. Due to its dark colour, it won’t show up too many dirt marks. If you are using it on a wood floor, make sure you pop some grippers underneath to hold it in place.

5, Knitted Round Basket

I do like my storage baskets! They can be used for a range of items in a range of rooms throughout the house. Store kids toys in it, use in the wardrobe for shoes, or to pop any dirty items in. Place by your front door for shoes. Baskets like these have endless options.

6, Hello Goodbye Door Mat

I know this mat looks cheesy, but I love that when you enter a door space, it says Hello and as you leave, you can read it saying goodbye!  I placed one of these outsides of our home office, and at the end of the day, it’s nice to walk over the mat and say goodbye to work for the day!

7, Wire Basket

I saw these Wire Baskets in the store the other day and thought they were really useful!  I have seen many times on Pinterest these sort of wire baskets been used for kitchen storage options. It has that front black label to make sorting your kitchen items a breeze.  This doesn’t just have to stop in the kitchen, they can be used in the laundry room, linen closet or bathroom cupboards.

8, Large Metal Clock

Kmart has this listed on their website as classic with an antique feel and I think that is about right. It’s a large clock that is ridiculously lightweight (yes I got one of these for our home office too) and it definitely makes a statement on the wall. Ideal in a home office space, a kitchen or dining room wall.

9, Zsa Zsa Faux Fur Cushion

What’s not to like about a soft and fluffy cushion that would be cosy on a sofa or bed.

10, Ceramic Candle – Vanilla and Pear Scented

Scented candles can create a delicious smelling atmosphere in any home. I like that this is a bit different and come in a bowl which makes for a lovely styling accessory for any room in the house.
