Relax!

Have a pamper morning, get your hair done, a manicure or pedicure.  Perhaps a relaxing massage is just what you need.  This can be a lovely way to relax and unwind.  Keep an eye on coupon websites like One-day deals and Groupon for discount vouchers.

Catch up with Friends.

Meet up with a friend whose company you just love.  Go for lunch and try somewhere you have never been to before. Laugh and just have fun!

Go for a walk.

Grab your music device, pop in your headphones and just walk.  Look at the scenery around you, the trees, and flowers and just smell the fresh air.

Shopping.

Take yourself around to your favorite shops and spend time just browsing. I love those home décor shops, I could spend hours in them. Sit and have a coffee on your wander – invite a friend with similar interest.

Spend time in the Garden.

If you are at home, have a nice quiet space in your garden and it’s a lovely day, take a cozy rug, a magazine or book, your favorite drink, some music and go and relax.  Get your husband/partner to manage the kids and make sure everyone knows not to bug you during this time.

Get someone (husband, grandparents or Aunt and Uncle) to take the kids out for a fun morning or afternoon. Don’t do housework!!!! Place on a face mask, run a bath or have a long hot shower, use your favorite body scrub and just relax!  After, wrap up in a super comfy robe, grab your snacks and drink and watch either your favorite TV episodes or movie and just enjoy your time!

Find a Yoga or Mediation class.

This can have a great calming and relaxing effect on your body.  Do a google search for a class on a Saturday morning that you could attend – take a friend with you and have a delicious breakfast or brunch after.

Read a Book!

If you love books then visit your local library (I always forget about visiting the library).  Take some music and earphones, find some books or magazines and find a cozy corner and just read, browse and relax. Don’t forget to take in a tea or coffee with you (most libraries allow this – some even have a café).

Go to the movies!

Some people don’t feel comfortable about going by themselves but so many people go to the movies by themselves and love it! Try and pick a time that it may be quiet, take your goodies and just go and enjoy your own company.  I don’t know about you, but where I live often the theater will be quite empty so it can be such a peaceful way to spend a couple of hours.

Girls Night.

Have a night out with your friends. Get dressed up, pop on your makeup and do your hair. Go to a fabulous restaurant and then arrange to go to a show after.  Schedule your night out for when an amazing act is coming to town.  Have you been to the ballet?  If not – try it!! It is actually really entertaining and a lovely way to spend the evening. Go with other mummy friends who also deserve a night out, laugh and just enjoy yourself!
