8 Christmas Advent Calendar Ideas you Must Check Out!

The Christmas Season is fast approaching!

So now is the time to starting thinking about those Christmas items that you may need to get organized to use from the 1st of December such as an Advent calendar.

There are plenty to purchase these days like these chocolate ones, toy ones, and even beauty ones. But if you are like me and like to get creative and make ones for the kids or that someone special then I have 8 Christmas advent calendar ideas to inspire you!

Train

A Train set with carriages that hold each day’s item – I know my kids would love this!

Sacks

Little sacks made up for each day that you can stuff with a few goodies.  It can then be attached to a mantelpiece or hang a long rope and attach each sack with some pretty ribbon.

Wooden Christmas Tree

You can purchase a plain [amazon_textlink asin=’B00EXYG7FG’ text=’wooden craft tree from Amazon’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’ellecherie-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’b6205487-b79d-11e7-a37c-67116d328118′] and decorate it like this one.  You then place an item in each draw and every day of the month the kids get to open one draw.

Sew an Advent Calendar

Handy with a sewing machine? Grab a large piece of material and shape it into a Christmas themed items like a tree, snowman or a snowflake, and sew 24 envelope shapes that are easy to get into and large enough to hold your items.

24 Stockings

Make 24 little stockings that you can attach to your mantel and fill with treats for the little ones.

Envelope Christmas Advent Calendar

Here is one that I made last year for my family. I made up 25 envelopes that they could open each day and popped in some chocolate.  The larger ones for the 25th and the 8th had some extra things like mini legos, bubbles, and stickers.

Christmas Beverage Advent Calendar

A great advent calendar for that loved one! Place 24 bottles of their favourite beverage on a shelf and at the end of the day they can crack open their one for that day!

Mini Gift Boxes for the Christmas Tree

If you have your Christmas Tree up from the 1st December, you could make mini gift boxes filled with little treats and then hang them on the tree.  Each day of December your kids (or other recipients) can find the one for that day!
